AM

The first thing I do after I get up in the morning is to try to do some sort of exercise.

Once my head is clear I start by checking my emails from my Agent and then sign into casting sites like Mandy, Spotlight, and Star Now and apply for any castings.

Once I have sent off a minimum of 100 applications I try my best to read a book most mornings. I am currently reading a book called The Lucid Body.

I then head out to any jobs that I have been booked for the day. I arrive on set and go straight through to makeup. Once the production team has tested all the equipment and they are happy to go ahead we start shooting a few scenes.

PM

The evening is usually filled with something on Netflix. It’s important to keep up to date with what’s popular and analyze what you like about it and are those attributes universal. After watching some series I then go on Twitter and find out what others like about it. What makes it addictive and special, how do I bring that to my work? Are the actors popular right now? Then I try to study their performances.

If I’m not watching a series I watch a TV Program called  Hollywood Reporters Round Table. This is a conversation with Actors, Directors, or Producers being very candid about what it takes to make different movies and give they give a real insight into the industry.

  1. Take up flyering, if you can handle giving out 1000 flyers in one day and only having 50 people actually take it with a genuine interest you are ready for auditions
  2. Never rely on one audition. Even if it’s for the biggest opportunity and could change your life. Do 4 more so that if you don’t get one there is a higher chance of you getting another one and at least you are working. Putting all your hopes into one audition can leave you very feeling low if you don’t get it and can leave you with no work to fall back on.
  3. Therapy!!! Acting is a huge weight on the psyche, therapy helps you understand you as a person and deal with somethings you may not have wanted to. In your characters they usually go through a dramatic turn of event in the time we share with them in a movie or play which depicts only a very specific part of their journey which is usually dramatic; to be able to give an honest performance and to even build the character it takes understanding and honesty with one’s self. Therapy can help you with that. Also, the acting industry can become lonely because of its unconventional hours of work and you may not be around your circle or family as much you desire. Therapy can also help with those emotions
