Gertz Rigaud

VIDEO EDITOR

I’m currently a student at Alfred State College and I’ve been involved in the sports program working at different sporting events dealing with videography work and also helping with social media content. During that time I started building my portfolio and contacting different people on social media from Overtime and Bleacher Reports and even starting my own sporting platform. My passions are sports, content creation, and storytelling through post-production.

AM

After I wake up I check social media to check what’s trending and what’s going on in the world.

I then look online for any career opportunities.

Research some new editing techniques online that I would like to implement into my videos.

I then start editing for a few hours

PM

Have a short break and maybe go for a walk to give myself a break from staring at the screen.

Finish up whatever edit I’m working on.

At night I post videos on my platform and social media.

  1. Be true to yourself and be consistent in your work. The industry is small so you want to leave a good impression wherever you go.
  2. If you have an idea go for it because it can be the idea that helps you get through the door and change your life.
  3. Don’t be shy, don’t doubt yourself, and always remain positive and give everything 100%. Don’t let a couple NO’s discourage you from following your dreams.
