MY working life began as a chef in Dublin, shortly after I saved up a lot of money and decided to go travel around the world. On my travels, I ended up in Thailand and got myself a job promoting a nightclub. While in Thailand I discovered that I was going to be a father, to cut a long story short myself and my son ended up moving back to Dublin when he was 1-year old.
Now back in Dublin, I was a single parent with very little options regarding work as I had to take care of my son.
After trying different jobs I decided that I needed a completely new career path. On my days off I would look online for various jobs that would allow me to work from home and work my way up the ladder.
This is when I came across Social Media Marketing. Not only would I be able to look after my son but I can help support businesses.
AM
Wake up at 6 a.m.
Meditate shortly after
Grab a cup of coffee
Open up my laptop and review my to-do list written down the night before
Try to get one thing done on the list before 7.30 am
After this, I go to wake my son up, I make it my business to greet him with a smile every morning no matter what’s going on.
Breakfast and get my son ready and off to school.
Come back home to work where I quickly try to tick off each thing on my list. The list usually consists of launching campaigns, optimizing ads doing some client outreach, and sometimes client meetings
Gym session
PM
Dinner for myself and my son then get him off to bed
Back to work to finish the rest of the tasks on my list.
Maybe do a module of a course or watch an informational video on YouTube, write my goals and tasks for the following day,
Netflix and bed.
- Have a plan and have specific goals
- Build relationships with businesses and people
- Be persistent and never give up, Businesses are not built overnight, it takes years of struggle, failures, fear and sacrifice but you will get there if you stay focused and don’t give up. Get out of your comfort zone and face your fears as this is the only way to truly progress and grow.
